This Bergere style chair is a generous old world masterpiece. The back is loose and it has a knife edge cushion. The seat is boxed as is the ottoman cushion. The front of the Avocet is serpentine and both the front and the back of the ottoman have a gentle serpentine profile. Where the fabric meets the wood, there is an attractive double welt.
